Greetings, readers - an update post, today. For those of you who don't know, April 26th is Alien Day, a day to celebrate the classic Alien franchise; it's perhaps a bit ridiculous if you're either not a fan or have never seen the films (and if you haven't, what are you doing?) to spend a day celebrating some movies. You're kinda right, to be fair - it's often nothing more than just a bit of communal fun and it often comes with some new merchandise or announcements that fans like me get in a twist over.

Alien Day is celebrated around the day of April 26th (which is to do with the setting of the first film, LV-426, which becomes 4/26 as an Americanised date); a lot of fans look forward to new Alien-themed stuff, but I tend to just get the soundtrack spinning or watch a couple of the movies to feel part of the celebrations.

But this year, I decided to take a bit more of an active role in the proceedings; I'll be reviewing the seven main instalments of the series (or what I consider the seven main instalments) across the next week, with Monday 26th being Alien Day itself. Starting with Prometheus (2012) tomorrow, I'll go through Alien: Covenant (2017), Alien (1979), Alien Isolation (2014), Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992) and culminating with Alien Resurrection (1997) next Wednesday.

For a nerdy final sentence; in the words of the Working Joes (more on them on Sunday), "we hope you'll join us for the journey".
