Hello everyone, and welcome back! It's been a long time since we last had a bit of a catch-up. I've been a bit busy lately with some big behind-the-scenes changes that I'm going to talk to you about in this post - so, let's not beat about the bush, let's get right into it!

Infinite Reel - Up and Spinning

Some of you who know me will know that just lately, I've gone through a bit of a hectic time - I've recently left my job working as a Video Editor, but I have gone freelance! I recently launched my new business, Infinite Reel Productions. If you need video of any kind; livestreams, music videos, post production services, wedding videos, photo montages - any kind of video, we can work on. Feel free to check out the site and share as far as you can to get this business up and running!

Sam Bateson - Filmmaker | Writer Is No More

That's right, Sam Bateson - Filmmaker | Writer is going away. Well, not exactly. As you've probably noticed, we've had a new lick of bright red paint around here, on Facebook and Instagram. That's just one small part of a bigger rebrand I'm currently undergoing to bring things in line with Infinite Reel.

So, out with the old, in with the new. I'm happy to announce that Sam Bateson - Filmmaker | Writer is being renamed to Infinite Media. You'll have all the same great content, reviews, books and films that you're already used to, but under this new banner. All of that, plus a few more exciting things that I'm currently working on that you'll be hearing about over the course of the year.

So, let's have a little chat about some upcoming projects, shall we?

I've been very quiet about the state of some of my projects, but I'm happy to bring you up to speed at last. As you'll have seen quite some time ago, my next book, Thoughts and Prayers has been put on the back burner for now. I'm still chipping away at it in the background, but with the way the world is at the moment, it doesn't seem like the right time to write a book about war or terrorism. Thoughts and Prayers will see the light of day, but right now isn't the best time for it. So, for now, that's on hold.

Another project on hold is the oft-mentioned Midnight City. I announced this bloody ages ago - that's another project that's currently living in a state of limbo, purely because it's become so large, I've had to rethink how the plot will play out. What began as one novel has quickly expanded into something of a saga, told across multiple books. So whilst I have Midnight City currently sat half-written, I'm going through the process of plotting out two more instalments to create a trilogy. This includes re-writing the first instalment to connect neatly with the other two. So, Midnight City, again, will see the light of day eventually, but I'd rather have it become the launch pad of a new trilogy that makes sense, so it's currently on the back burner whilst I figure out how it connects to the other instalments. It's definitely on the way.

Finally, I can tell you a little bit about the next book that will go on my digital bookshelf. Perhaps you've seen the teaser trailer for this new novel, which I'm currently writing, I hope to have it out sometime next year. It's an exploration into a genre I have never covered before, which is historical drama - I won't give too much away just now, but what I can say is that it's set between 1958 and 1975 and primarily focusses on Georgia, USA. It's a pseudo-fiction book inspired by an amalgamation of unbelievable but true events and I can't wait to share more about it. For now, enjoy the teaser and have fun doing a bit of Morse-translation...

As with everything in this post, I'm still ironing out the details and there will of course be more news to come. For now, thanks for taking the time to check out this little update and hopefully the next time we chat, I won't have left it for so long.
